Appraisals
mary l harding G.G. always includes an appraisal of your jewelry gift purchase. If your jeweler doesn’t, consider having your jewelry item appraised by mary l harding, G.G. PRIOR to the holidays. By doing so, the item can be insured right away. Additionally, the receiver won’t be inconvenienced with taking the item to be appraised, and possibly, having to leave it during the appraisal process which can take longer after the holiday season.

Getting appraisals on the pieces you already own can also be a great and practical gift.

Passing a family piece along this year? Include an appraisal in the recipients name.

Leather Jewelry Wallets
Consider a jewelry storage item as a gift extra gift. The leather wallets are excellent for travel (fitting easily into a handbag) and a safety deposit box (whether at home or at a hotel). Caution!!!!! When using a hotel room safe: I was traveling to a gem show one year and closed and locked the room safe prior to changing the combination. I called the front desk and within minutes a security guard came to the room. He had a ring of keys that worked every room in the hotel and a special key for opening the safe. It took him less than 30 seconds to get the safe open. From now on, I leave my items at the safety boxes at the front desk.

Drawstring Pouches
Jewelry drawstring pouches are great for storing items at home and for travel as well….and they can double and an evening bag. Think about enclosing your wrapped jewelry gift inside or a gift certificate inside.

Ultrasonic Cleaners
Ever panic when that little wrapped box goes missing under the tree? Why not give a gift within a gift and put the jewelry gift inside a battery operated ultrasonic cleaner? And when the (included) solution runs out, use a 50/50 mix of warm water and household ammonia for a great way to keep your gems sparkling!!!
